BTS is one of the most popular bands. They have many fans worldwide. Some of them are even stalkers. And by stalkers we don’t just mean stalking on social media. Also Read – Fans want THIS BTS member to collaborate with Taylor Swift
Some of them try to get information about BTS’s flights and find ways to get on the same planes. One former stalker fan revealed that this is quite popular as “the members are so vulnerable” and “can’t escape” while in the flight. Also Read – Do you know what BTS members nicknames are?
That’s not all. Some even visit hotel rooms where the members are staying, get their personal contact information, and even try to physically touch them without permission. Also Read – Hollywood News Weekly Rewind: The Fast & Furious 9 trailer, BTS’ Bang Bang Con 21, BAFTA 2021
Talking about stalkers in a live stream, band member V said, “You know how nowadays we board planes by ourselves? We fly on private flights. We want to fly on commercial flights, but whenever we travel long distance or short distance, there are people who know about our flights and will sit in front of or right next to us.”
In June 2019, Jungkook received a call when he was in the middle of a live stream. He blocked the number and shared that he does not answer calls from unknown numbers. He said, “If someone is calling to see if it’s my phone number, I immediately block that number,” he said. “Stalker fans call me a lot, so I have to block them.”
Jungkook told People magazine that he always feels pressured of being popular and asserted, “I realized that I should think twice before I do anything, and not forget where I am, no matter what situation I may be in. The pressure [of being perfect] is always there.” On the other hand, another member Suga revealed that the lack of privacy has affected him deeply in BTS’ 2020 docu-series, Break the Silence, in which he said, “I’m really jealous of people who can go out to eat, travel, go to the movies with friends, and things like that. Those things are really special to me because I find them hard to do.”
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, group leader RM shared that since they (band members) are “seven boys with dyed hair” which easily catches the attention of the fans, they often leave in small groups from their accommodation and avoid going out together. If they want to catch any movie, the members go for the earliest of the last show of the day as there are chances of being less people around that time. The musical group prefers to shop online and avoid going any physical stores.
